Automatic Fire Detection & Alarm System Testing

There are two main types of automatic fire detection and alarm system specifications.

BS 5839-1: 2025 is adopted for non-domestic premises, and BS 5839-6- 2019 for domestic. These are commonly and more simply referred to as Part 1 or Part 6 systems.

Emergency Lighting Testing

Emergency lighting should be tested on a monthly basis, and inspected, serviced and maintained annually, in accordance with the relevant British Standard – BS 5266 Emergency Lighting.
